Four gentle steps. In your Jupiter home.

The biggest reason families delay calling is they don't know what's about to happen. So we tell you the whole visit, start to finish, before you pick up the phone.

1

We arrive at your door.

Shoes off if that's your preference. Most visits in Jupiter, Tequesta, Palm Beach Gardens, or the surrounding area happen within a 30-minute drive of Jupiter Town Hall. We take a few quiet minutes to meet you and your pet, and to find the right spot for the visit, wherever you'd like that to be.

2

Time with your pet, on your terms.

No rush. A favorite blanket, a sunny spot in the yard, the family present or not. Other household pets are welcome. We've helped families on couches, on screened lanais, in living rooms full of grandchildren, and on the beach. The space and the moment are yours.

3

A gentle, two-step procedure.

It begins with a small injection of sedative. Your pet is in a deep, painless sleep within minutes, completely relaxed and unaware. We don't move to the second injection until they're fully comfortable. The second injection is final. It's not felt. Over within minutes, peacefully, with your hand on them.

4

Aftercare, on your timeline.

A clay paw print keepsake is included with every visit. If you've chosen cremation, we handle the transportation to our trusted local aftercare partners. Our communal cremation is Memorial Reefs International, where your pet's ashes are incorporated into a living undersea memorial reef garden through our crematory partner.

"As they say, if love alone is what she needed to stay with us - our sweet beautiful calico, Dusty, would have lived forever. You made a difficult decision and process so much easier. Most of all, thank you for your dedication and compassion in taking care of our sweet Dusty's last moments with us, her forever loving family."

Dr. Katie Matzke, Jupiter native.

Founder, in-home end-of-life veterinarian

Katie was born and raised in Jupiter, Florida. She attended the University of Florida for both undergraduate and veterinary school, graduating from the UF College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.

She spent the next ten years as a shelter veterinarian at Nevada Humane Society, where she founded Rover Veterinary Care in 2020 after watching too many families struggle with end-of-life care in the wrong setting. In 2023 she returned home to Jupiter to expand the practice to South Florida. She still does spay and neuter work for multiple South Florida shelters.

However you're feeling as you read this, you don't have to do it alone. We'll be gentle with your pet, and with you.

Questions Jupiter families ask the most.

How quickly can you come to my home in Jupiter?+
Same-day or next-day appointments are typical in Jupiter. If you call early in the day, we can often be at your home that afternoon. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are also available, with a $100 after-hours fee. Call (561) 295-7979 and we'll work to be there when you need us.
Do you serve all of Palm Beach County?+
Yes. Standard travel includes anywhere within about a 30-minute drive of Jupiter Town Hall, which covers most of Palm Beach County north of Boca Raton and into southern Martin County. We regularly see families in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Tequesta, Hobe Sound, Juno Beach, and North Palm Beach. Extended-travel fees apply for visits outside the standard radius.
Is in-home pet euthanasia legal in Florida?+
Yes. In-home euthanasia is fully legal in Florida and must be performed by a licensed veterinarian. Dr. Katie Matzke is licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and has been practicing in Florida since 2013. The procedure follows the same medical standards used in a clinic, just in the comfort of your home.
What if I live in Tequesta or Hobe Sound?+
Tequesta and Hobe Sound are both well within our regular service area. We do many visits each week in both communities. Standard pricing applies, no extra travel fee. Drive time from Jupiter is typically under 20 minutes to either.
Do you offer cremation services in the Jupiter area?+
Yes. We work with Pet Angel Memorial Center, our local cremation partner. The choice is between private cremation and communal cremation. For private cremation, ashes are returned in your choice of urn, engraved with your pet's name, delivered to your primary veterinarian's office at no extra cost, or to your home for a small delivery fee. For communal cremation, Pet Angel works with Memorial Reefs International, where ashes are incorporated into a living undersea memorial reef garden.
How do I know when it's time?+
This is the most common question we hear, and there's no single right answer. A free quality-of-life consultation is available on the phone before you book. Dr. Katie can talk through what you're seeing at home: pain signs, appetite, mobility, dignity. That helps you think through whether it's time. Call (561) 295-7979 to talk, no commitment.
What does the visit cost?+
Three Jupiter packages: $450 (euthanasia only, includes vet travel, gentle two-step procedure, and a clay pawprint keepsake); $600 (euthanasia plus communal cremation); $700 (euthanasia plus private cremation with ashes returned). Cremation-only services are also available at $450 (communal) and $550 (private). Evening, weekend, and holiday visits add $100.
Can my other pets be present?+
Yes, and we encourage it when it feels right for your household. Many families have other dogs or cats present during the visit. Pets often understand more than we realize, and being there can help them process the loss in the days that follow. Children are also welcome at any age. We're happy to talk through what's right for your family on the phone before the visit.

We're here when you're ready.

The phone is answered by a real person, every time. Same day or next, seven days a week.

Or text us if you'd rather not talk right now.
